We’re usually home from work by 4:30 pm each day. It’s up to you and the kids to determine how to spend your time between 3:00 – 4:30pm. They love to spend time outside and also enjoy building, crafting and playing games when weather brings them inside.
If you have experience caring for children, and you are interested in earning some supplemental income while you attend CUP, we look forward to receiving your resume and a brief introductory letter from you.

Local Family Looking for Child Care

Nanny needed for two-year old boy Thursdays from 7:30am – 3:30pm in University Park
Hello! We are a fun and energetic family who are looking for a nanny to spend Thursdays with our 2 1/2 year old son from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm starting September 6th. If you are responsible, reliable, and organized and are excited about playing, being silly, getting outdoors, and nurturing an active and fun two-year old who is exploring the world, you will be a great fit. During the day, you will be asked to prepare simple meals for our son (breakfast, lunch, and a snack or two), clean up those dishes, play!, and put our son down for his nap. We live in the University Park neighborhood between N Willamette and N Lombard streets, very close to the University Park New Seasons store. We ask that you have your own transportation to and from our home. If interested, we are also open to calling for other occasional babysitting needs depending on your schedule. Please email me at: (Molly Gates) if you are interested to learn more and to set up a time to meet. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!

Portland Early Learning Project is hiring

Portland Early Learning Project seeks three excellent, part-time Spanish instructors for the 2018-2019 school year. Instructors will primarily teach afterschool classes plus one or two early afternoon preschool classes. We will train you! Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. The most important requirement is that candidates must love kids. Paid training starts in August.

The potential instructor will be:

– Reliable, trustworthy, organized, and extremely prompt

– Fluent in Spanish and at least nearly-fluent in English

– Able to work independently with groups of young children

– A team player

– Able to travel from one school to another

– College degree preferred.

– Must pass a background check.

– Must respond to texts and emails in a timely manner.

– Must be CPR-certified, or willing to become certified.

Note: Since this is a part-time position with hours spread thinly throughout the week, it is important that potential candidates live relatively close to the schools where they teach. It is NOT worth it to commute long distances, only to teach an hour or two of classes. Specific teaching schedules will be emailed to you upon request.

Potential candidates must be 100% available to teach the entire schedule. Lesson plans and materials are provided, as well as paid training. We give our absolute best to our teachers and are looking for instructors who will do the same in return! We are a tight-knit team working with great schools and families.

Commitment through May 2019 is required. There is potential for summer camp opportunities, in addition to continuing employment for the 2019-2020 school year.

local family looking for a babysitter

Engaging and Reliable Babysitter Needed, Close-In NE Portland

When: 3pm –6pm, Monday to Friday with some flexibility

Where: Close-in Northeast Portland (Irvington to Woodlawn)

Starts: September 2018

I need someone to pick up my two children (ages 8 and 10) from school and bring them home, which will usually involve a 2.2 mi drive (or possibly bus ride) and sometimes (if going to dad’s house) a two-block walk. Primary responsibilities include: arriving in time for pick-up, driving children home, supervising some light household chores and a little homework, and then relaxing and drawing or holding guinea pigs, going to the park … your choice.

Must be a safe driver with your own car, valid driver’s license, and car insurance.

About us: I’m a single mom with two school-age kids. I work in math education for a local non-profit close to Legacy Emanuel Hospital. My kids will be in Grades 2 and 5. They love art, the library, Minecraft, our cats and guinea pigs, Steven Universe and Teen Titans Go, and reading. I’m trying to be better about limiting screen time and would love a babysitter who would enjoy taking them to the library, talking/listening about Minecraft, and supporting them in their frequent ambitious and spontaneous craft projects.

If interested please call me, at 503-943-9045

Thank you, Martha Ruttle
